Last week some of us went to visit NPH in Honduras. It is much bigger than in Nicaragua, and we got many new ideas and inspiration for what we can do here as well. They have 2 houses for kids with special needs, one for boys with behaviour problems, 1 for old people, 2 clinics, church, and much more. Last Saturday it was NPH Nicaragua's anniversary, and we celebrated all day. We selected the new NPH Queen, ate food and sweets, played games, danced and had lots of fun!

One of the kids found this little kitten and gave it to one of the volunteers. It was very little and weak, but he survived.he is called Simba, but i call him Pelota (=ball) :)

Last Friday Anne and I went to La Punta . We were the only ones there..except from a sleeping bird...Great day!

One weekend we had a bug problem..they were everywhere. We could hardly breathe without getting them in our nose. It was a nightmare! Took some pictures of the dead bugs the day after....

Tio Marlon Tio Paco and Chepe One day we couldn 't turn off the shower anymore ... so we went to the director , tio Paco . Tio Marlon, the national director was also there and so was Chepe from the bakery . They worked on it for about an hour , but we still couldn 't turn it off . So they ended up putting a piece of wood into the pipe to stop the water. Next day our handyman came and fixed it ...He had to change everything because they broke it completely the evening before .. :) In Nicaragua it 's also common to have eletrically heated showers ...

Anne got invited to celebrate the Queen's day at the dutch embassy in Managua, so we went there on a descanso . That was great!!! We even walked up the red carpet and got to talk with the ambassador...and they had normal, dark bread, cheese, salmon, vine.... mmmmmmmh !

Sleeping in a nice, normal bed....Zzzzzzzzz! Hotel patio. Anne and I in the hotel garden. Anne and I in the pick up on the way home. Ferry was delayed and we missed the last buss, but fortunately we met a family we already know, so they drove us home. It's probably the friendliest and funniest family on the island :)
