León is a very calm and friendly colonial city and less touristy than Granada. If you go here, stay at the hostel Via Via.They support various projects in the city and offer a lot of information and help to organize excurtions. http://www.vivatravelguides.com/central-america/nicaragua/the-interior-and-leon/leon/leon-hotels/via-via

Celebrating Virgin Mary Me and my very first self made piñata :) Making Piñatas is fun! Getting ready to do a traditional nica dance... The kids singing at the gates of the houses, asking for a place to sleep= mary and josef asking for a place to stay. This is what the posada is really about. At a fiesta there has to be entertainment. Each house get an evening where they are responsible for the show in the ranchón. Dancing around the piñata

La Gigantona y El Enano Cabezón is a traditional event in both Granada and León.Read more about it here; http://www.necat.org.uk/gigantonas.html A girl celebrating her quinzañera. Turning 15 is a big thing in South and Central America. Then we ended up in a wedding.. :) Streetboy earning money by selling flowers and insects made of grass At Seeing Hands you can get massaged by a blind person. It is good , cheap and you support a good project :) Once a year you can attend La Tipica in Granada. It is a huge party with horse shows , fiestas and Carneval . A great opportunity to learn more about the Nicas and their culture .
