The lights and colours in this church were amazing ! What a contrast to the first impression .. Lena invited us to join a trip to their place called Capricho at the Pacific coast . It 's near a small village, and we were the only ones there .. eccept this guy trying to get some fish . When we went to the local shop , a very friendly guy gave us a big tuna. This woman was kind enough to help us prepare it . Delicious ! We did our best to help her :) Friendly old lady, showing us how to make pupuse at the boarder . Pupusa is a very typical dish in El Salvador, you can buy it everywhere . It 's like a tortilla filled with cheese or refried beans ..or both .. mmmmmh !

The bungalows where we stayed, right in front of the entrance to Semuc Champey . This means; when you stay here you get to enter Semuc Champey before all the tourist buses come..we were almost alone, and it's all within walking distance just a few minutes away.Perfect! Reception and restaurant, the food was really good. Welcome to Tikal ! We went on the sunrise trip. It starts veeery early in the morning from flores . It was nice, even though we saw nothing but fog. But i was so tired I wasn't really able to pay attention to what the guide was saying. So if I ever do it again, I will skip the sunrise, get some sleep and learn more in stead..and the sunset is supposed to be quite spectacular as well ;) Little tarantula, cute.

This really weird insect is called peanut head, or something like that. Zoom in, and you will see why! Vonnick & Stine-Mari in front of one of the many pyramids. The Austrian guy taking the picture once visited some of the other volunteers at the island. What a small world! Me on top on one of the pyramids The pyramid I climbed up on. 1 month earlier a tourist fell down the stairs...some said she died from the injuries. So now the old stone stairs are closed, and you have to climb up a wooden staircase next to it.

Snake! Back at hostel Los Amigos..and this really is a friendly place. the food is absolutely delicious, big portions..and yes, it's even cheap! They also have lots of information on travels, excurtions, etc.you can do. They were really helpful, giving us advice, when we were planning our trip to El Mirador. It is also a good place to meet other travellers. Down the street is a very interesting cinema where they serve food and drinks. They where showing a Norwegian movie based on the book "Sofies verden" by Jostein Gaarder when I was there, check it out! The busdriver on the bus to Carmelit..friendly guy with a gun, smoking on the bus. All normal in central America.
